Missouri men sentenced on child pornography charges

On Behalf of | Dec 15, 2011 | Child Pornography |

Three men in Boone County, Missouri, were sentenced earlier this month to several months in prison on child pornography charges. Each of the men was found to be in possession of a computer that offered child pornography via a file-sharing program. Efforts to track them down were coordinated by a Cyber Crimes Task Force.

One man, age 25, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. An investigation to track down the source of videos that had been offered on a file-sharing network led a detective to a computer at the man’s residence. Hundreds of videos that showed children as young as eight years old were found on the man’s computer. He received a six-year prison sentence.

A second man, age 26, was also tracked via files he offered over a file-sharing program. Two computers at his residence were seized, and investigators found photos of children as young as three years old being sexually molested. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

In yet another case, a third man, age 27, was found to have a computer with video files showing sexual molestation of children. He received seven years of prison time as well as another five years of probation.

Accusations of sex crimes against children in general, and child pornography in particular, are taken extremely seriously in Missouri. People who face such charges need to be sure their rights are protected. Those accused of crimes like these are best served to have a vigorous defense mounted by experienced attorneys.
